Let’s talk about it

Money matters, everyone talks about it, why not you? It is spoken of from the grass root to the glass house, and its voice is heard from the home front to the market place, the poor talks about it so also does the rich.  Men are in Business because of it, for some it is outflow of their hard work, for the hand of the diligent makes fat. So much can be done with it from the home front to the nations, it answers to the bills and it is given as an exchange for goods. Even though it is good and nice to have and needed for our everyday use it does not provide an answer to the redemption of the soul. The soul of man has not been redeemed by perishable things like silver or gold but by the blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot. Ecclesiastes 10:19, I Peter 1:18-19

Abuse of money is inevitable when man lacks the understanding of money, hence it is not surprising that ignorant and covetous men in our days had become lovers of money rather than users of the same, they have become slaves of money; marriages are troubled and divorce is on the increase because of it, families are at logger heads, nations, cities and communities have suffered and some are still going through an un-ending unrest and wars because of money issues, while many have become victims of national disaster, rape, abuse and social degradation all because of money matters.  Why?

The mindset of many had become not only captivated by the thought of money, but men were enslaved by the power of mammon. What was meant to be an instrument of exchange for goods, if put into its rightful use had become an instrument of cruelty, atrocities, weapon of mass destruction by those who had become lovers of it.  To some, life is not worth living when there is no money, having forgotten that the life of a man is not defined by the abundance of his possession. Their pursuit of money, and desire to acquire more and more wealth become unquenchable, how it is acquired matters no longer to covetous men who have embraced the spirit of this world rather than the spirit of God, they are not careful about how it is derived or acquired, whether they have to steal, cheat others to collect more than their portion, kill so that they may achieve their desired wealth, regardless of who they are or known as in the society or how they are placed from the palace to the marketplace, from the pew to the pulpit but their lovingly loving money had become a driving force, rather than their love for God.

Many have engaged in the act of wickedness, shedding blood of another without batting an eyelid, joining occultic group and practicing witchcraft, bowing down to idols or looting treasuries of cities, churches and nations, killing friends, enemies, families, and wasting life in the religious places just to meet the demand of the spirit of mammon, and to satisfy the insatiable appetite of acquiring wealth by hook or crook, the more they have, the more they needed to have, it was considered the needed tool to be in power and remain in power for many.

The voice of money speaks volumes to ambitious men who are driven and motivated by material substance rather than their destiny, to some, the voice of money speaks louder than the voice of integrity, loyalty, honesty, commitment and truthfulness, which is of more value than money or wealth that could appear today and disappear tomorrow, “For wealth certainly makes itself wings like an eagle and flies to the heavens” Proverb 23:4-5.  What a tragedy?   Friends let us think and talk about the “money matters”, from our governing bodies to our church pew and the pulpit;

Nations have been enslaved, men have been harassed, polluted, wasted and had become victims of governing authorities who refuse to let go of their position of authorities at the end of their service time or tenure in office, not because of their love for their nation, her people, or because of their commitment to lift up the damage of poverty over their land or change the misconception of other nations about their sphere of influence, neither were they seeking for another term in office in order to add value to their nation and her people.  Their eyes are on looting and emptying the remaining treasures of the land. Others may have taken some, but they embarked on taking all, assuming that the strength of their rulership or governorship is determined by the amount of wealth they have or could acquire or accrued, so what they met full they have left empty.  Until they are deceased, the magnitude of their lustful and greedy appetite remains unknown. They forget that we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. Let us think on these things.  1 Timothy 6:7

What about from the pew to the pulpit, the clergy man or those trusted to be servants of the Most High God, men considered to be lovers of Jesus, keepers of the treasures in the treasury of the church, holders of the purse that has the Lord’s money in it but have given their soul to the spirit of belial, to deceit and have become subjected to the devil who is the father of all lies, men who do not just help themselves with what is in the treasury of the Holy place (the church) but had become unaccountable; unfaithful men, the true sons of Eli, unruly men who intercept the offerings that belongs to God but choose the best portion for themselves, men who were no longer heavenly minded, but have their conversation only on the things that are here and now, they have become the Judas’s of our days who is not afraid about trading their salvation to acquire wealth or satisfy their lustful and insatiable appetite for money, wealth and power rather than being kingdom minded.

What shall we say to these things? they are men and women whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame; men who are passionate and consumed only with their desires, their gain, and what is in it for them, merchants of the gospel, rather than bearers of the cross and messengers of good news; men who have stopped looking to the all sufficient God,   who is the meeter of all needs, Jesus the son of the Living God, the one who became poor that we may become rich through his poverty.  Jesus, who through His life, death and resurrection secured for you and I, untold riches. For His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertains unto life (what we need to live while on this earth and our eternal home with the saviour) and godliness through the knowledge of Him that called us to glory and virtue.  Beloved, this untold kingdom riches is available to every believer in Christ Jesus, many knows about it, it could be accessible to every believer, but many have lived and die and never had access to the true riches of the kingdom.  Why?  Philippians 3:18-19, Genesis 17:1, 2 Corinthians 8:9, 2 Peter 1:3

For the true riches of the kingdom is a mystery uncovered to the seekers of the kingdom of God, men and women who are kingdom minded and who do prioritized the matters of the kingdom above their personal agenda and mission, those who are mindful of the governorship and rulership of God who is the King of the kingdom, men who have left all to pursue the advancement and establishment of God’s kingdom on earth, would undoubtedly have and gain access to supernatural wealth of untold riches which is available to every believer.

Kingdom riches are seen and accessible by those who know, embrace and live by kingdom principles, for the riches and the treasures of darkness that was secured for every believer in Christ Jesus, are not found in the open place as those who sell the doves in the temple but seem to have thought that the profits of doves is commensurate with true riches in Christ Jesus.    The true riches of the kingdom provides both what monies can buy and spiritual treasures that money cannot buy, so it is not limited to accrued wealth or money, or what was gathered or hidden in the vault of some nations bank.

Having money or wealth is not after all a crime or bad in itself, for it is the desire of God that you and I should prosper and be in health as our soul prospers. Prosperity must be an outflow of our righteous living and walking with God, for “the generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself”.  However, the accrual of wealth in any way without the knowledge of or an encounter with “The Truth”, is like sailing on the ocean of vanity which would invariably lead to nothing but vanity of vanities.   So men who were so rich in our days, smart and intelligent, prominent men with promising future, who have acquired money without an understanding of the truth, men who lived life only on substance, as if it starts and ends on earth had become condescending and obnoxious of life; they engaged in destructive habits that ended up in depression, drinking and drug abuse, angry men who in spite of their accrued wealth, take their own lives, living behind for others or in national vaults of banks what they have gathered in their life time.  What a catastrophe. 3 John 3:2, Proverbs 11:25, Ecclesiastes 12:8, 1 Timothy 6:17

Beloved, let us hear the conclusion of the whole money and wealth matter, true untold kingdom riches is still available today for kingdom stewards who will give their all to God, “like a treasure hidden in a field; which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it”. As the covetous men (the Pharisees) who were lovers of money more than lovers of God sneered at, despised, mocked and laughed at the words of Jesus then, some are still doing it in our days but the truth remains unchanged that “You and I cannot serve both God and money”.  Matthew 6:24

The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The word of Jesus must remain resounding in our hearts as we continue to search through the scriptures and lay hold on what is written for us in Christ Jesus, we would access untold riches, divine treasures of “indescribable value” that cannot be acquired by our natural talent or man-made wisdom or smartness but that is only accessible to us though divine revelation and the power of the Holy Ghost. Remember “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings to search out a matter”.  Having been made a kingdom and priests unto our God, we must begin to dig deep into the word of God, in order to locate what has been written of us.  Beloved, we must stop sailing in the shallow waters of ‘do it for me businesses’ or stand aloof from our kingdom pursuit. You and I must come between the porch and the altar, rendering our hearts and not just our garments, having the form of godliness but in denial of true kingdom power, as we diligently cry out to God for insight and access into the kingdom heritage secured for us by Christ Jesus. Matthew 13:44-45, Luke 16:13-14, Romans 14:17, John 5:39, Proverbs 25:2, Revelation 5:10, 14,

Consider this:

  • For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. [2Corinthians 8:9 KJV]
  • Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. [3John 1:2 KJV]
  • For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. [Romans 14:17 KJV]
  • But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. Let us think on these things? [1 Timothy 6:6-8 NIV]
  • Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? [Mat 16:24-26 KJV]
